Are Home Staging Classes The Most Appropriate Way To Learn Home Staging?
One of the questions that budding and veteran home stagers are asking is: “Are home staging classes the most appropriate way to learn home staging, be it the basics or the most advanced techniques?” If you go to this site where you can find a noted home staging expert who does most of teaching people the real art of home staging, she will say otherwise. Lots of home staging sites today are offering home staging classes that gives out home staging certificates or accreditations to prove that you’re a certified and professional home stager which is not the way it should be. Actually, these companies are just trying to make an extra profit when they say you need a certification from some home staging schools and this is where this book guide called “Home Staging Success” comes in. It’s a compilation of straightforward courses which will help you start and grow your home staging business. Perhaps the best way to learn more is to get to this site now and read all about why this book is the best and only source. And no, you don’t need any certification or accreditation to be a professional home stager.

Appreciate your take on Home Staging Courses BUT … when I decided I was going to open a Home Staging Business and run it as a serious business professional I KNEW that I KNEW I needed an education & creditials. At the time I was well versed in running a small business, real estate & residential building, as a lay person. I always sold my homes (built them too) by owner; Stgaging them and making quick sales.
Before I started Selling Edge, LLC I went online and researched courses. I found http://www.stagedhomes.com and took their course(s). See, Realtors are our target market and they, as professionals, have creditials. They seek individuals also that have creditials. Professional Realtors want to work with Professional, Trained Home Stagers. They want people that are serious about their business, run it well and continue with their education. That is what Realtors do; seek more education. Education IS key!!!
Now I do not mean to put down all the excellent Stagers out there that have the “eye” for it and do it well after reading a book. Anyone that has attemped this business KNOWS that it takes talent AND the right eye regardless of where you “learn.” I would not have true success were it not for the education I have taken under Barb Schwarz, The Creator of the Home Staging Industry®.
I have not spent ONE day sorry I invested my time & effort into the ASP & ASPM course(s) @ http://www.stagedhomes.com. You cannot put a price on real training; the hands on Staging during each course and the support sytem you get through StagedHomes.com & the International Association of Home Staging Professionals – AFTER the course. It is a priceless, wise investment to anyone that wants to tap into the Home Staging Industry and make some of the real money that is available.
Home Staging is HOT right now. It’s an industry in it’s infancy; it needs creditability itself. My wish is that everyone take training and learn the craft of Home Staging as there IS bad Staging going on – for a variety of reasons that I won’t go into here. Know what I mean?
Thanks for the post – Jan Whitlow, ASPM, IAHS
